Natural cleaning products are safer for humans and pets and less damaging to the environment as they are non-toxic. Added advantages of natural cleaning products are that they smell fresher, clean as well or better than toxic chemicals, and are cost-efficient. The average American uses about 40 pounds of toxic household cleaning products each year. By switching to natural cleaning products you are able to protect yourself, your family and the environment from harmful chemicals.

Homemade cleaning products can be made very easily with natural cleaning ingredients. Following are some basic ingredients and uses:

Vinegar: Vinegar is a wonderful all purpose homemade cleaning product that is eco friendly and effective in every room in the home. A simple solution of one part vinegar and one part water will clean nearly every surface, appliance and fixture in the home. In the kitchen it is used to clean counter tops, appliances and all surfaces including the greasy walls above the stovetop. In the bathroom, its uses include cleaning the bathtub, the sinks and the toilet bowl (use straight vinegar here). In the laundry room, it can be used as a fabric softener in the laundry by adding one half cup during the rinse cycle. Vinegar is also used for mopping floors (avoid on hardwood floors for removing grease, mildew and wax, to clean windows, brick and stone and to clean walls.

Baking Soda: Baking soda is another natural, eco friendly all purpose cleaner that is used to clean, deodorize, remove stains and soften fabrics. Baking soda can be sprinkled onto a damp sponge or cloth to clean countertops, bathtubs, sinks, ovens and fiberglass. It is also a wonderful deodorizer, eliminating smells.

Borax: Borax is used to kill mold. It can also be used to enhance the cleaning power of soap. Caution must be taken when small children and pets are in the home as it can be toxic to both if consumed.

Lemon Juice: Lemon juice is a popular non toxic cleaning product and is used for removing stains from clothing, cutting through grease and removing perspiration stains from clothing. It is also used as a bleach alternative. In the bathroom it can be used to remove soap scum and hard water deposits. Sprinkle a little baking soda on a cut lemon and scrub stains and surfaces. To create a furniture polish mix one-half cup of lemon juice with one cup of olive oil.

This means that the more attractive a product’s packaging is the better chance it would have of arresting the attention of potential buyers. Studies have determined that customers only use up 20 seconds or so browsing the retail shelf before making a decision. Aside from attracting attention, the packaging would also change the way customers perceive a certain brand.

When designing the container for a product, a goal should be in place. For example, the brand has to have a particular quality that it would like to project. Is the brand a conventional one? Is it aimed for the edgier youth generation? Is the brand looking to carve a niche in the bleeding edge, the untested waters of product development?

With the core qualities of the brand serving as a guide in designing the packaging, the business would have a better chance of adding value to their products simply through the container. Another thing that should be kept in mind during the design process is that you are not just selling a product. You are also selling your brand.

The right placement of your brand is therefore important when it comes to developing a new container for a product that will be launched. It should not dominate the packaging but it should also not look like adding it was just an afterthought.

With the competition about to be even tougher in the near future, it is important that a business should do everything to add value to their products. In the past, business may have gotten away with using plain looking packaging but in today’s modern marketing world, using them would not be the best idea for any manufacturer or retailer.

Nickel Cadmium (NiCad) batteries are hardly ever seen anymore. They have dismally low capacities (2000-3000 mAH) and contain heavy metals that harm the environment. Worst of all is the dreaded “memory effect”. When you recharge a NiCad battery before it is completely drained, the longevity of the battery is compromised. That is the memory effect. Nickel Metal Hybrid (NiMH) batteries have twice the capacity of NiCad batteries (4000-6000 mAH) and are half as susceptible to the memory effect. But these too are becoming rare. Lithium Ion (Li-Ion) batteries are today’s laptop battery standard. They have all the capacity of a NiMH battery, but zero memory effect and zero toxins. Bonus: Li-Ion batteries weigh half as much as NiMH batteries.

Used laptop batteries that are not refurbished will probably only last you 30 minutes to an hour before needing recharging. Refurbished laptop batteries are available from most manufacturers and retailers of refurbished laptops. These batteries are renewed, recharged, and tested. They are much better than plain old used batteries, but not quite as good as new. New laptop batteries last a good couple of years – 600-800 recharges – as long as they are properly cared for.

Whenever you are using your laptop near a power source, use the A/C adaptor. However, sometimes you will be forced to use your laptop with no access to a wall outlet, and the battery will run low. First, if your laptop processor features a power-save mode, switch over to power-save mode. This will slow the laptop by up to 50%, doubling battery life for that time period. Second, turn off extraneous energy-sucking elements. The major power vampires in your laptop are the hard drive, the CD and DVD drives, any networking devices, and any excessively bright screen settings. Third, you can double overall battery capacity by installing a second battery. Your laptop must have a universal bay in order to do this. All you have to do is remove the CD-ROM or floppy drive and put a battery in its place.

Construction fasteners are those that are used in the construction business. These fasteners include thousands of variety of screws, nuts, bolts, pins, and hinges. Construction fasteners can be custom made and are also available in the retail as well as wholesale market. Traditionally, fasteners that are used for construction purposes are heavy and sturdy compared to deck fasteners or normal screws and bolts. Construction fasteners are used for commercial, residential, and industrial purposes. Every type of construction requires fasteners, from small house to a large factory. Many inventions and innovations have changed the way fasteners are used in the construction business and new types of fasteners such as self drilling screws that are corrosion resistant are used galore in the construction business.

Fasteners are usually selected based on their function and the material that is to be fastened. This means that a fastener required for joining two wooden beams is different from a fastener that is used for fastening steel rods. Other factors that determine the selection of a fastener are – application, body design, diameter of the body of a fastener, thread type, material, and drive types. It is important that a construction fastener meets the requirements and quality standards laid down by the government. The tensile strength and the shear values should be accurately determined to avoid any breakage or untimely fatigue failure of the machinery or construction in which the fastener is to be used. Fasteners that are used in construction of a scientific or biological laboratory need to fulfill the requirements that are necessary for the safety of the crew that work in the lab. Fasteners have become an integral part of our lives and are indispensable in almost every industry. Fasteners are used in almost every object that a person sees around him. The indispensability of fasteners is truly realized when we observe that all the machines, factories, vehicles, consumer goods, and human construction around us comprise of fasteners that determine the life and usefulness of the object.

If you are working in architecture, then you may also be interested in finding different types of products to assist you with your work. Technical glass products are one of the components that are required to ensure that the products you have are made with high quality and protection. Understanding how these products work as well as how they can enhance your use of glass can then offer more options to enhancing the overall use of glass within architecture or for technical needs.

The main characteristics of technical glass products are to provide materials that are protective, safe and which have characteristics needed for buildings. Typically, these products are used with larger buildings and are a part of the windows that are needed. To meet codes of safety and proper comfort within the building, the glass can be added to ensure that there is high quality within the different rooms, specifically from the glass and windows. The first set of elements that are a part of the technical glass products are a part of the weather. The glass that is built is able to add in different technical specifications that protect against different types of weather. Resistance to heat is one of the main components, specifically with the ability to keep the heat outside of a building. Seals that are used with the glass also block other types of weather, such as cold that may come into a building.

The different technical glass products are matched with safety needs that are a part of buildings. Typically, there are codes that are required to meet safety standards that relate to building regulations. This includes fire and impact safety that is a part of the city standard. There are also levels of transparency that are required with the glass products to ensure that there is safety inside a specific building, especially in more corporate areas. The technicalities of glass should have protective coatings and safety features that are durable against these different elements. For architects or those interested in high quality windows and glass materials, is the need to look into technical glass products. This offers reliability with the weather and resistance to different characteristics that are a part of the buildings. There is the ability to combine this with safety features and personal preferences to make the windows one of the best and safest features within a building.

Magnets are magical objects having magnetic fields that can hold things together. The magnetic fields attract metallic bits and pieces like clips, pins, hair and other similar objects. It is believed that ancient Greeks are the strongest competitors who discovered magnets. They were the first who observed lodestone attracted iron bits. Another version says that they discovered magnetites in Turkey. Thales who lived in Greece is known as the first human who studied magnets. He studied the nature of magnets why they attracted each other.

On the contrary, Chinese also used magnetic stones at that time and historians believe that they used it for making compass. Magnets also appeared in an ancient place in Macedonia called Magnesia. Even till this day, the Chinese use magnets for healing which they call magnetic therapy. The Romans used to catch electric eels and they used it to cure arthritis and gout. During the middle ages, the alchemists claimed that they used magnets for curing sadness, baldness and arthritis. A Swedish scientist named Swedenborg studied the differences between a magnetic object and a non magnetic one in 1734. Magnetite was the first magnetic substance that was ever known. A French, named Louis Neel had challenged Swedenborg and came up with a theory on ferromagnestism. Magnets have five types namely bar, lodestone, horse, ring and button. They are classified according to their different shapes and sizes. Others are made of iron and rock.

Magnets have made our lives easy and comfortable.. They are used in making microphones, electric motors, TV sets, computer monitors, speakers and much more. Magnetic compasses are also used in ships to keep them on right track. Jewelry and tools also have magnets. A television set has magnetic chips in their CRTs. A magnetic field is formed and with an electronic process images can be seen on the screen. Computer discs are also coated with iron which creates magnetic field and allows the disc to store data. In the field of transportation, magnets are used in bullet train tracks. ATM card or credit cards also have magnetic strip. Magnets are indeed crucial in our lives today.

The products vary from fruit wash to drain cleaner products. The earth friendly natural fruit and vegetable wash helps to remove pesticides, various chemicals heavy metals, dirt wax and all kinds of bacteria. The earth enzyme drain opener and natural enzyme drain cleaner is a high tech method for maintaining free flowing drains and cleaning of clogged septic tanks and cesspools. They are pretty cheap and range from a price of $4-7 dollars.

The 21st century now introduces one to a clean house and a clean planet. All these organic cleaning products are non-toxic and keep your home sparkling. It is no longer necessary to use commercial cleaners since there are effective and a safer alternative. Now instead of laundry detergent, aqua balls can be used. Even household cleaners and stain removers like Citra Solv range can serve the purpose. These products have the advantage of saving money and time. They are gentle on the clothes, furniture and the house as well as help to save the environment.

Organic products include vinegar, salt, baking soda and borax. It does have its own disadvantage; that is it cannot be bought in bulk. However there are numerous stores that sell these organic products. For instance organic soap is said to very good. Not only is it chemical free, but it also improves the texture of your skin. It might seem that these products are incapable of cleaning properly but the fact is that they may even give better results than that of regular cleaning products. While using organic products a healthy environment is created. As a result of this the demand for chemicals would decrease thus causing less pollution.

There are companies where all the products are 100% organic. These produce all natural house cleaning products as well as body care products. All the products contain essential oils and other plant materials. These companies aim at providing health benefits as well as fresh wonderful fragrances which are natural and safe to use. They keep continuously researching and expanding their products. They intend to be as environmentally friendly as possible not only with the products that they offer but also with the ingredients that are used and even the packing. Most of them are packed with recycled materials without compromising with health and hygiene. Although most of the oils are obtained from different parts of the world but the medicinal herbs and plants used are grown locally. These products are known for their medicinal purposes and are pocket friendly too.
